Top NFL Week 5 Games and Picks

NFL Week 5 doesn't necessarily feature the marquee games of the past few weeks (think Lions versus Ravens or Ravens versus Chiefs), but the NFL has proven time and again that it offers the most consistently entertaining product. Each weekend has featured some exciting football and many last-second victories. Last week featured nine one-score games, while the week prior featured eight one-score games.

Last week, Off the Field & Screen went 4-1 with our picks. Let us know if you beat that, and if you agree that these will be the five best games.

Top NFL Week 5 Games Quick List

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Seattle Seahawks Sunday 4:05 PM ET on CBS

  2. Denver Broncos @ Philadelphia Eagles Sunday 1:00 PM ET on CBS

  3. Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars Monday 8:15 PM ET on ESPN

  4. San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams Thursday 8:15 PM ET on Amazon Prime

  5. Minnesota Vikings @ Cleveland Browns Sunday 9:30 AM ET on NFL Network

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Seattle Seahawks

Tampa Bay is coming off a hard loss against the league's reigning champs, while the Seahawks are coming off a last-second win against the Cardinals. Baker Mayfield and the Bucs offense produced nearly 400 yards of offense, but turnovers cost them the game. Seattle and Sam Darnold won on the road, and the Seahawks' defense picked off two Kyler Murray passes. A Seattle win will keep them at least tied for the division lead with either the Rams or the 49ers. The Buccaneers have the 49ers and Lions next, so a win would help ease the pressure in those games.

Betting Odds: Seahawks -2.5 (Per ESPN)

Off the Field and Screen Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Denver Broncos @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles appear to be on a warpath to repeat as Super Bowl champions. They haven't won a game by more than a score yet, but they've looked dominant anyway. The Denver Broncos haven't started out the way many pundits predicted, but they sit at 2-2. They have the Jets, Giants, Cowboys, and Texans following this game, so even if they lose, they have the schedule to bounce back. The Eagles have looked so dominant, from blocked field goals to fake tush pushes. They haven't even hit their stride yet.

Betting Odds: Eagles -5.5 (Per ESPN)

Off the Field and Screen Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

Kansas City Chiefs @ Jacksonville Jaguars

If in the preseason, someone told you that when the Jaguars and Chiefs play on Monday Night Football, and one of them is a division leader, you'd assume the Chiefs. The Jaguars are coming off a severely disappointing 2024 (4-13). They could tie last season's win total in Week 5. The Chiefs, however, just beat the Ravens 37-20, following a lot of criticisms about their slow start. They always have Patrick Mahomes, but can Trevor Lawrence change his narrative as an underperforming former top pick and help the Jaguars win on national television?

Betting Odds: Chiefs -2.5 (Per ESPN)

Off the Field and Screen Pick: Kansas City Chiefs

San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams

The 49ers may be without Brock Purdy, but they've managed to win 3 of their four one-score games. Kyle Shanahan continues to show why he is among the league's best coaches. However, Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford are one blocked field goal away from being undefeated. The pair continues to produce wins, and Stafford led another game-winning drive last week. The Rams are a sneaky Super Bowl pick, with the fourth-best odds among NFC teams, according to ESPN.

Betting Odds: Rams -3.5 (Per ESPN)

Off the Field and Screen Pick: Los Angeles Rams

Minnesota Vikings @ Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns have yet to allow 300 yards of offense to any team this season. Despite that fact, they are 1-3. This week, they are going with rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel over Joe Flacco. The media will lose their minds if Gabriel struggles, because their favorite 5th-round pick of all time is the team's third-string quarterback, Shadeur Sanders. The Vikings have had an odd string of games. J.J. McCarthy helped them to a 1-1 record before his injury. Carson Wentz came out and helped them beat the Joe Burrow-less Bengals and then lost to the Steelers in Dublin. This week, they play in London.

Betting Odds: Vikings -3.5 (Per ESPN)

Off the Field and Screen Pick: Cleveland Browns
